Services & Benefits
The Workforce Development program currently offers the following learning pathways, which will help adults 18 and older to increase their wages, start a new career, and reach their education goals:
Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
Utah Community Action offers an in-house Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) to qualified applicants. The CDA is the most widely recognized certification in early childhood education, and it offers great career potential once completed. Getting a CDA requires 120 hours of class instruction, plus an additional 480 hours of preschool classroom experience. Classes are held once a week and follow a school-year schedule.
Sauté Culinary Employment Training: Coming Soon
Sauté Culinary Training Program is a two-week course with the option of an additional week of culinary skill building in the kitchen. Gain the skills to start a new career or increase your income, earn your Food Handlers’ certificate, and receive assistance with resume building and interview skills.
Job Readiness and Financial Literacy
Whether you are looking to further your education, change careers or update your resume a case manager will be with you through every step. Personalized learning paths may include just one or all six Job Readiness topics.
Through one on one personalized meetings with one of our Adult Education Case Managers, you will be better equipped to reach financial stability. Personalized learning paths may include just one or all six Financial Literacy Topics.
GED Prep Program
Ready to get your GED? We offer free online resources and individualized support to help you reach your goals!

Post-Secondary Education Referrals
Based on the current job market, the Workforce Development program collaborates with community partners to assist individuals with career specific training.
English Second Language (ESL)
Utah Community Action provides referrals for adults interested in English as a Second Language education.
