Free classes and educational resources to help adults obtain employment, increase their wage earning potential and decrease barriers to self-reliance.- Child Development Associate Credential (CDA): In-house employment training program. CDA is a widely recognized certification in early
childhood education. - Financial Wellness: Gain knowledge and skills on three components of Financial Wellness: 1) Financial Literacy, 2) Job Readiness, and 3) Post-Secondary Education. Working one-on-one with a case manager client’s eliminate barriers and work toward financial, educational, and career goals. Applications are
accepted online, year-round, with an introductory Financial Wellness orientation held each week,

Utah Community Action – Case Management & Housing
- Landlord-Tenant Mediation: Mediation services for tenants in danger of eviction; attempts mediation prior to entering the court process by working with landlord. To Call 801-359-2444 to see if you qualify

Utah Community Action – Head Start & Early Head Start
Free high-quality preschool, medical and family services for income-eligible families or children with disabilities, ranging from 0-5 years.- Various options and locations offered in Salt Lake & Tooele counties (prenatal, home-based, 3.5 hours, 6 hours or full-day based on availability).
Mental Health Hotline: - Families can call or text the hotline at 801-608-1799 and receive assistance in grief/loss, anxiety,
substance abuse, depression, abuse, and domestic violence. The hotline is available Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Utah Community Action – HEAT Utility Assistance
Free year-round utility assistance for income-eligible households. HEAT season runs from October 1-Sept 30 annually. The month of October is reserved to support vulnerable populations in applying for HEAT services.
- HEAT: Clients are eligible once per season for a lump-sum benefit to help pay towards their energy costs
(power and gas only). Households with a child under 6 years old, 60 or older and a disabled individual qualify for an additional $150 towards their benefit. - Crisis Assistance: Clients must have a 48-hour notice and a recent crisis that prevented them from paying their utility bill/s to qualify for additional crisis funds towards their power and/or gas bills.
Must be screened for crisis pre-eligibility by the agency intake team at 801-359-2444.
UCA staff may help complete and submit HEAT applications to Olivia Aivilo at heatpartners@utahca.org – please make sure client signs a Release of Information and attach to application.

Utah Community Action – Weatherization Program
Free assistance for income-eligible residents to improve energy-efficiency and home safety. A home may only be fully- weatherized once, but is still eligible for Crisis Weatherization Service Calls as needed.- Weatherization: Available to renters AND owners of single-family homes, duplexes, fourplexes, trailers, mobile homes and townhomes. Waiting list ranges from 6-months to one-year.
- Crisis Services: Must be the homeowner to qualify. May apply for crisis non-functioning furnaces or carbon
monoxide leaks. Qualified applicants will receive services within approximately 48-hours business
hours of completing application.
* Households with elderly or disabled individuals or a child under six years, also qualify for assistance with broken water heaters or existing air conditioning units.
